Las Vegas VIP Skywalk Express

By Alley Keosheyan / April 20, 2017

Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the Grand Canyon Skywalk. If you’ve come as far as Las Vegas, you’ve come too far NOT to see these world-renowned attractions, tight schedule or not!

Presenting the VIP Skywalk Express tour, where you can see the premium sights of Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon in less than half a day. Your tour begins with Las Vegas Hotel pickup and transportation to the Boulder City Municipal Airport, where you board your touring helicopter and glide up and away over the Mojave Desert, a vast, austere landscape straddling Nevada, Arizona, Utah and California.

The towering, yet tasteful Hoover Dam (1936), and the soaring Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bypass Bridge (2010), stand as pinnacles of modern engineering in their respective centuries. Since helicopters are allowed a lower flight altitude than airplanes, you’ll be treated to the optimum eagle-eye view of not only these architectural marvels, but Lake Mead, one of the biggest man-made lakes on the planet, and a crucial watershed for the population of the Western U.S.

As the lake becomes a river, the Grand Wash Cliffs come into view before you, while the Grand Canyon opens up below you. This area of the Grand Canyon, belonging to the Hualapai Indian Tribe, was virtually untouched until the 1990’s. At that time, the tribe began to develop their land holdings, which eventually became a brand new Grand Canyon tourism powerhouse: Grand Canyon West. In March of 2007, they launched what would become their star attraction: the Grand Canyon Skywalk!

As your helicopter alights just feet from the Grand Canyon rim, you’ll transfer to a waiting shuttle bus to for the trip to Eagle Point and the Grand Canyon Skywalk. This cantilevered glass platform in the shape of a “U” extends 70’ past the lip of the canyon, giving those with the courage, and the price of admission, the precipitous yet strangely alluring sensation of walking on air high above the floor of the Grand Canyon. There’s no waiting in line as you’re given VIP first-in-line access, and a complimentary souvenir photos that immortalizes your stroll on the Skywalk for all time!

After your VIP Skywalk adventure, you’ll be flown back to the Boulder City Airport, and shuttled back to your hotel. Unbelievably, 5.5 hours – hotel to hotel – is all it takes for this incredible tour. If you’re short on time, but long on desire to experience the Grand Canyon Skywalk and more, this tour was made for you! But, a reservation can’t be made for you without your say-so, so click on the “book now” button below, and …. see you in fabulous Las Vegas!

She has ridden the Grand Canyon mules, hiked rim to rim, rafted the rapids of the Colorado River (and the smooth bits, too), enjoyed many a weekend on a houseboat on Lake Powell, logged countless hours on both airplanes and helicopters, walked on air on the Grand Canyon Skywalk and frolicked in the blue-green waters of Havasu Falls, all in the name of "on-the-job-training." Tough job, but someone had to do it, don'tcha know ;) She now makes her living as a freelance writer by day, bass player in a cover band by night.
